Look at me! I can walk! Sort of...Discovery
Today was our third day meeting with our little one. When we got to the music room in the baby house, she was there sitting with Lynda. We spent the bonding time in the same room as the Robey’s. Their Anton is a cute kid and pretty typical curious 3 year old. It was kinda funny because he seemed more interested in us than in his parents, and Symbat seemed more interested in them than she did in us.
When we got there today she was a bit tense as usual, but she warmed up pretty quickly. We finally had our toys from home today, as Kara got her suitcase yesterday afternoon. At first she wasn’t quite sure what to think of them, but then she started playing. She did typical baby stuff like shake things that made noise and smack plastic cups together to make more noise.
She taught us quite a bit about herself today. Yesterday we weren’t sure she could crawl, and today we learned that she might not be able to crawl across the room in the typical sense, but she can get around if she needs to. She also sat up by herself from a lying position. We tried to get her to roll over, but she was having a hard time of it, maybe because she had several layers of bulky clothes on.
She’s definitely still using her mouth to explore the world. All of the new toys we gave her went to the mouth. She sucked on some, like the plastic keys, but others she just licked. We also found out that she likes to walk when supported by someone. She walks a lot on her tiptoes, but she likes to move around that way. Maybe the tiptoe thing is a sign she wants to be a ballerina. We know an awesome ballet coach… maybe we’ll get her some lessons. Here are a few more pictures too… we hope you like seeing them!
