Lunch today was at a new place called Antalya Doner. It’s on Abaya street (from the hotel, go left on Tole Bi, then right at the first light), about three or four blocks down on the left. Their sign claims they have “fast food” and has pictures of pizza and hamburgers, so we thought we’d give it a try. Their menu was not in English, but it did have pictures next to each item. Hallelujah! I ordered lamb shashlik and everyone else got a pizza. I was rather impressed with the shashlik, and the pizzas are apparently better than the ones at Istanbul, but not quite as good as the ones at Bosfor.
Shashlik on a sword... the skewer was huge!
At 3:00 we went to the baby house again. Symbat again greeted us with immediate smiles. We bundled her up and took her outside because it was such a nice day. In the gazebo, we hung out with Eva and Vicente (and Maria), and the Robey’s came and went a few times with Anton. It was a nice relaxing time… nothing too out of the ordinary to report.
We confirmed that we are supposed to be flying back on the 14th. We’ll head to Almaty on Wednesday by car, and then our flight leaves Thursday morning at 2:15. While this might sound painful, we’re actually looking forward to it because we’ll probably have no problems sleeping on the plane. Our plane will make a quick trip into Astana, and then on to Frankfurt. In Frankfurt we have almost 4 hours, and then back across the pond. We’re definitely looking forward to getting home, but will miss the little girl we’ve come to know. She feels like our daughter and we can’t wait to get the family all together!
