May 6

Waiting until 3:00 this afternoon was tough. We’re used to going in the mornings and had settled into a bit of a routine. We had lunch with the Robey’s as usual, but we weren’t able to have our normal conversations about what we saw or did with our kids today.

Today felt special though, because as soon as her nanny brought her into the room, Symbat’s eyes lit up and she gave Kara a huge smile. No warm up period today! She was bundled up for the outside, and it was a pretty nice day out, so we went for a walk. We saw the Robey’s as well as the Spanish couple, who were bonding with their little one. She is a cutie too. After our walk we headed back inside so Symbat could play with her toys.

We still don’t know when our guardianship council date is. We were told the too-familiar phrase, “We will know tomorrow.” I really hope we do know tomorrow. We’re more than ready to get on an airplane with our little one and head home, but we still have quite a ways to go before this journey is done.
